BMW 3 Series, 1990 - 1999

The BMW 3 Series is a compact luxury car with sedan, hatchback, coupe, station wagon and convertible bodies and rear-wheel drive. The BMW E36 was a huge success and was the most sought after of all BMW models. The car has a Z-axle type multi-lever rear suspension, which was used in the Z1. Most engines are DOHC, and the most powerful 328i has a 2.8 L 6-cylinder in-line 24-valve engine with 193 hp (142 kW) / 5300 rpm and 280 Nm / 3950 rpm of torque. The car accelerates to 100km / h in ~ 7 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 236 km / h. In 1995, the hatchback Compact was introduced, which has the same front end as the sedan, but everything else was different, including the interior and rear multi-link suspension. This car has a shorter rear end and is designed to compete with smaller Golf class members. The BMW E36 is a well-managed car, quite reliable, with a lot of comfort-enhancing equipment and powerful engines, but it also has its drawbacks - not much space on the rear seats and not the highest quality material.
