The BMW 3 Series is a compact luxury car with sedan, hatchback, coupe, station wagon and convertible bodies and rear-wheel drive. The E46 model is a true evolution of the E36. Many of the body lines and silhouette remained the same as in the E36, only slightly rounded, taking on a more aerodynamic shape which was very popular at the time. Both the headlights and rear-view mirrors remained similar. In the interior, similarly remained seats, but the instrument panel, center console is a copy of the E38 and E39 (7 and 5 series) models. The most powerful version had a larger 3.0 L engine 330i / Ci ZHP with 238 hp (175 kW) of torque, 301 Nm of torque and accelerated to 100 km / h in 5.8 seconds. In 2002, the E46 sedan was upgraded with new headlights, new bumpers and a stiffer chassis, and in 2004 the coupe was upgraded. The E46, like its predecessor, had great success in all markets and was considered the benchmark for a small family sports car. The record year for the E46 was 2002, when 56,1249 units were sold.
