In 2013, the long-awaited BMW i8 hybrid was finally unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The design of the car perfectly gives meaning to the style that has been used by the BMW company for some time, which could be described in the words futuristic, modern, refined, subtle. In fact, the BMW i8 is very similar to the VISION concept introduced in 2009. The body of the car is made of a carbon fiber reinforced polymer called Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP). Beneath the body is a rechargeable hybrid system consisting of a three-cylinder 1.5-liter 231 hp petrol engine with twin turbines, rotating rear wheels and a 131 hp electric motor powered by the front axle. The total power of this system is 362 hp and the maximum torque is 570 Nm. Acceleration of the BMW i8 up to 100 km / h. lasts 4.4 seconds and average fuel consumption is hard to imagine at 2.1 l / 100 km.
