BMW 1 Series M Coupe, 2010 - 2012
Will this be the most successful BMW M-Series since the E30 M3? BMW seems to use a time-tested formula for success: a powerful engine, a manual gearbox and a rear-wheel drive. The BMW 1 Series M Coupé is the most powerful version of the 1 Series - it is the smallest and cheapest M Series car. Why is it not just called “M1”? It's easy to predict - the name adorned a legendary sports car made more than thirty years ago, and today BMW has already introduced an impressive concept, so the name is left for a supercar coming soon. The 1 Series M Coupe has an N54 Series twin-turbocharged engine as on the 335i and Z4sDrive35is. The 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine develops 335 hp (250 kW) of power at 5900 rpm and 450 Nm of torque in the speed range of 1,500 to 4,500 rpm (with overboost capability increasing torque to 500 Nm). The red speed limit starts at 7000 rpm. It accelerates to 100 km / h in just 4.9 seconds (beware of Aston Martin and Porsche!) And the top speed is limited to 250 km / h. The 6-speed transmission transmits power to the rear 19-inch wheels. Although on paper this car is not as fast as the main competitor Audi RS3, which accelerates to 100 km / h in 4.6 seconds, the BMW coger does not rightly expect the 135iM Nurburgring ring to overtake faster than the previous generation third series M3 E46. The 1-Series M-Coupe has a much wider track and body than the standard BMW 1-Series, and also differs in bumper adjustments, exhaust pipes and other delicate details. All this gives the impression of a lightweight boxer standing in front of you - small, flexible and muscular. Although the car has increased slightly, it has become 35 kg lighter - it weighs a total of 1495 kg. The powerful puppy is sold only in orange, black and white. Inside, the cab is a little different from the standard - mostly with M-series badges, steering wheel and sports seats. I would like more exclusivity and attractiveness. M Dynamic technology allows you to set engine parameters for quiet, dynamic or maximum sporty driving. The entire rear suspension of the car is "taken" directly from the larger M3. Let’s move on to the most important part of any M-Series BMW - how does the car feel on the road? The answer is simple - perfect. On the road, the car behaves like a real athlete - the accelerator pedal reacts instantly, the steering mechanism is sensitive, very informative and can be said to be "heavy". Nothing unpleasantly unexpected or unpredictable - everything is clearly understood in the language of the "athlete". Turn off the ESP and you will be able to paint amazing curves on the asphalt. The car really has the aura of old BMWs - simplicity, exceptional handling and extraordinary power. It is very easy to get used to such a car.
