The third-generation Galaxy was introduced along with a very similar only slightly smaller Ford S-Max in 2006. The Ford S-Max is geared towards the more sporty buyer. Now the Galaxy is no longer identical to the VW minivan. It has become larger than its predecessor and although due to its size Ford could not design a car with a Ford Kinetic Design style, there are details reminiscent of it - a trapezoidal front grille, large wheel arches. The Galaxy does not have a spare wheel, instead it is equipped with a system that fills the punctured tire. One of the main pluses of the Galaxy and S-Max is the FoldFlatSystem system, which allows the second and third row seats to be folded to the floor and get a smooth floor surface.
