Ferrari Purosangue, 2023 - present
The day when the first Ferrari SUV was presented is truly symbolic - from this moment on, there are no longer any labels attached to one brand or another. Now the auto industry is moving in only one way - the way of increasing market share and revenue. Truly ultra-luxury SUVs have been produced for a long time - Lamborghini Urus and Rolls-Royce Cullinan since 2018, Aston Martin DBX since 2020, Bentley Bentayga since 2015. Not to mention the Porsche Cayenne produced since 2002 or the Lamborghini LM002 produced in the eighties. So Ferrari Purosangue was long awaited. However, the appearance of a Ferrari SUV is an exceptional event, because the Ferrari company is very attentive to the image of the brand and has long delayed this somewhat risky step. In addition, the company has mentioned that it will never produce an SUV. Unsurprisingly, the company has now been quick to point out that the Ferrari Purosangue is not, in fact, an SUV. "It's like no other car," said Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna, "it's a sports car that opens up a new segment." But it is what it is - it is an SUV, and the first four-door car of this brand. Compared to its closest competitor, the Lamborghini Urus, the Ferrari is 4,973mm long and 1,589mm tall, and is slightly shorter and lower. At the same time, the Lamborghini Urus is a bit more practical as it has a 616-litre boot compared to the Ferrari's 473-litre boot. Under the long hood is a new 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine that produces 715 hp and 716 Nm of torque. It's moved slightly towards the center of the car for better weight distribution, which loads the front and rear axles in a ratio of 49 to 51. Power is sent through a rear-mounted eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. However, the power transfer unit can also send power to the front wheels, so that the Purosangue can be driven on all four wheels if necessary. The Ferrari company considers the Purosangue a sports car and they really don't cheat - 12 cylinders do their thing and this powerhouse reaches 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and has a maximum speed of 310 km/h. "You can use the car off-road, but it's not a jeep," said Gianmaria Fulgenzi, head of product development at Ferrari. You won't be able to hook up a trailer either - the car doesn't have a hook. Passengers in the car sit low in an extremely beautifully made interior. Stylistically, the Ferrari Purosangue is an almost identical copy of the Ferrari Roma, only with four doors and a vertically stretched body. In fact, the design of both cars is very advanced and both cars occupy a slightly different place than all other Ferrari models - they are extremely elegant, less sporty and visually more modest representatives of the Ferrari range.
