The Volkswagen Golf Mk5 has once again become a very successful model in Europe. Since the older generation Golf was criticized as not a very dynamic and sporty car, the design of this Golf was worked on from the shoulder. The car is produced with a new rear multi-link suspension (very similar to the Ford Focus), which has greatly improved the car's behavior on the road and is now considered to be the leader in its class in this area. The car has a great 1.4 L TSI engine with two turbines and 170 hp, if that’s low - there is the famous GTI version, which has a 4-cylinder 2.0 L Turbo FSI (Fuel Stratified Injection) engine with 200 hp (147 kW) and 280 Nm of torque . If it turns out to be small, please a car with 3.2 liters of 250 hp (184 kW) / 6300 rpm and 320 Nm / 2800 rpm of torque, reaching a maximum speed of 250 km / h and accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.2 seconds. This version may also have an all-wheel drive system. The materials in the interior of the new Golf would be hard to describe as impeccable, perhaps in part because the Golf would not compete with its more luxurious brother, the Audi A3. So the new Golf has become sportier, better controlled while retaining many of the features it has always had - smooth ride, comfort, economy and capacity.
The most powerful version of the R32 has a 3.2-liter VR6 with 250 hp (184 kW) / 6300 rpm and a 320 Nm / 2800 rpm torque engine. This car reaches a maximum speed of 250 km / h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.2 seconds.
An impressive concept called GTI W12-650 was produced. This monster had a Bentley Continental GT 6.0-liter W12 bi-turbo engine with 650 hp (478 kW) and 720 Nm of torque. From 0 to 100 km / h, the car accelerated in 3.7 seconds and reached a top speed of 325 km / h.
This generation of Golf has won many awards, including the following:

Car description
I bought with full service history. I’ve been driving it for almost 8 months so I can say that it has enough space (in the trunk too) and is very economical to run even for a 4-member family. Sitting in the front is comfortable enough. Since all my kids are younger than 10, they have plenty of space in the back. I tried it myself too – feels good. It is equipped with 10 airbags, stands firmly on the road though the chassis could be a bit softer. To my mind it has excellent handling, so it’s a perfect option for those people who most of their time spend driving in the city, but at the same time wish to have both a spacious and fuel-efficient vehicle for longer trips. Sound isolation won’t let you down either.
Performance
The Golf I own has a 1.9 TDi engine with 77 kW of power and 100.000 miles run. It’s quite dynamic and has good traction, so if you aren’t a rally drive it’ll be enough. This engine is one of the most reliable ones. Maybe it gets too loud when is left in neutral, but once you start moving the noise disappears.
Reliability, running costs
So far the vehicle has done 7.000 miles and nothing got broken, so I have no clue about real running costs. Talking about car service, it must be done every 20.000 miles, I use Long Life oil for my vehicle. According to some experts, the amount of money spent on its repair is a lot smaller than on its bigger brother VW Passat.
