The Grand Vitara was replaced in the fall of 2005 with a new model that uses some components from the GM Theta platform. This Suzuki was created by the same engineers who developed the Suzuki Theta SUV. The Vitara uses a longitudinally integrated engine and can have rear or all-wheel drive. The car has very good off-road behavior and in this respect is one of the best small "parquet" jeeps.
