The new Lexus RX 350 features an upgraded 3.5 L V6 engine with 275 hp (205 kW) combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Both hybrid and non-hybrid models can be driven on all four wheels or the front wheels only. The new active power distribution system can now distribute power to any wheel from 50% to 100%. The rear suspension has been changed from the MacPherson type to a more perfect and sporty one with two crossbars, which has increased the boot space by five percent. The car became bigger and even more solid. The hybrid variant Lexus RX 450 has a 3.5-liter 2GR-FE V6 engine with 245 hp, and including the power generated by the electric motor, we would get a total of 295 hp. The new RX is even more economical and now has the following figures: in a city of 100 km the car consumes 7.3l, on the highway 8.4l, while the RX is driven only by the front wheels, these figures are even better.

Car description
For 3 years I was driving Lexus RX 400h. During this time the vehicle was never taken to the garage. I changed only oil, brake pads and low beams. Good impression about 400h consequently led me to a decision to purchase a new generation RX 450h model. Since I’ve been driving it for about 6 months, it didn’t cause any major problems. If to compare 450 with 400, some main points should be mentioned. The former has a more sensitive steering wheel, better front car seat side support, useful and comfortable auto multimedia. However, my vehicle’s rear seats have some rattling sound and always vibrate no matter even if I drive on a highway. Loud noise coming from the vehicle’s tires is another issue. But generally speaking, if the interior noise level was rated this vehicle would be still considered as one of the best SUVs. The chassis is more or less soft. Once I drove it off the road and as I was expected it didn’t impress me much. Due to new functions rear wheels are caused to spin more wildly thus it gets easier to drive the vehicle up the hill. To my mind, when planning frequent trips to nature, the issue regarding appropriate tires should be considered too.
Performance
The sound and traction of V6 engine is really impressive! Pity but the gearbox still cannot keep up with the engine. As for the fuel consumption: 36 mpg at 62 mph; 33 mpg at 70 mph; 30 mpg in the city; average – 34 mpg.
