The Honda FR-V is a six-seater compact minivan manufactured since 2004. The car is primarily characterized by having two seating rows with three seats in each. Together with Fiat Multipla in the European market, these are the only monovolutions with such a 3 + 3 configuration. The FR-V’s wide and relatively short body, unlike many other minivans, is dynamic and sporty. For those who want a more original minivan with a non-standard seat layout and an attractive design, the Honda FR-V is really worth a look.

Car description
Proud to say that this HONDA saved my son’s and my lives! While traveling I had to overtake plenty of trucks. Unfortunately, while I was passing one of them it suddenly started bypassing a trunk in front of us. While I was in the opposite traffic lane I’ve noticed an obstacle approaching me.. The road was narrow... I hit brakes! At that moment two wheels were one the grass, while the other two were on the asphalt. Believe me, folks, the car stood firmly on the road – I didn’t lose control over it not for a sec! As I recall it I feel deep gratitude towards the manufactures for this great car! The maintenance of the stability on the road is really incredible. Could it be because of a wide vehicle? Here are some remarks about this car. Since I’m 1.86 m tall I really like the third front seat – I feel very comfortable there. I have three kids, so there’s a constant fight for this seat among us :) Plus, you can use it as compartment. Underneath there is a drawer for keeping small things; the sitting part can be raised and if the back is folded down it can also serve as a table. If the trunk is loaded there is still enough room for everyone to make oneself comfortable – either in the front, middle or back of the car. You will be satisfied with the trunk capacity, unless if you are going with four kids on a backpacking trip, when each of them has to take a suitcase and plenty of other necessary stuff. But it’s not a problem, at least for us. If you find such type of a car I honestly recommend buying it. I’m really happy to have it. By the way, I have to mention that it has a very good audio installation. The sound is awesome!
Performance
Made in 2006, this Honda FR-V has VTEC system and is run on natural gas. No problems to speed on Germany’s autobahns at 150 km/h either. Fuel consumption – 10 L/100 km, but I don’t think you’ll manage to find anything cheaper than this. Before I had BMW, two Citroen – all of them were diesel-run vehicles. As petrol prices reach a record high, I was afraid to buy a car run on petrol. That was my mistake. When the engine works, the noise doesn’t irritate. In case of diesel you could feel annoying vibration while a car is left in neutral. The best traction is at 3000-4500 rpm. An oil change every 20.000 km is necessary. Sound isolation is insufficient at 90 km/h, but once you get used to it, you no longer notice that. The engine remains virtually inaudible under urban conditions. Technically, I haven’t done any major modifications, except changing V-belts, oil, brake fluid, tires. Pity, but the same thing can’t be said about French cars – every trip used to end up with a surprise. Thanks god, no more fears or paranoia before the trips left.
Reliability, running costs
After having it for 1.5 years, practically, I could get the same amount of money back. So it’s worth every penny. Small amount of expenses related to the maintenance of this vehicle, which is good and a lot cheaper then my previous diesel cars. You can easily start it up even at – 20C in winter.
Recommendations to buyers
Make sure the mileage indicated on the odometer of a vehicle hadn’t been rolled bacl; also take a closer look at rear wheel arches ‘cause they receive a maximum amount of salt and rocks, and most likely will be affected by rust.
