The new Citroen C4 Picasso is really more like an elevated hatchback than a monovolume and features well-crafted practicality and economical engines. The design of the C4 Picasso is somewhat challenging and is the result of the success of other exclusive design cars such as the Nissan Juke or the Range Rover Evoque. The C4 Picasso headlights fit nicely with the company logo / radiator grille. The rear end is a strange hybrid of the Volkswagen Golf and DS series Citroen that looks original and interesting. The C4 Picasso is built on the all-new EMP2 platform used by the Peugeot 308. The new minivan weighs around 140 kg less than its predecessor (it weighs similarly to the smaller C3 Picasso) and this has a strong impact on both fuel consumption and driving characteristics. Although the car has become 40 mm shorter than its predecessor, the 57 mm longer wheelbase provides more interior space. The luggage space also became larger, increasing from 500 to 537 liters. When the rear seats are pushed out, this space increases to 630 liters and the maximum luggage volume is 1709 liters. The interior of the Citroen C4 Picasso is no less stylish than the exterior. The huge panoramic windshield gives a feeling of openness. This is also emphasized by the horizontal instrument panel with a large 12-inch screen in the center. Other advantages of the car are revealed on the road - the monovolume perfectly absorbs road roughness, tire and wind noise is reduced to an impressive level. The car has also become much more manageable, the steering more informative and more accurate, although the Ford C-MAX still cannot match the car. Three different diesel engines are mounted in the same volume - the most economical e-HDI models have 1.4-liter engines with 89 hp. Their economy is impressive - 100 km of these engines will require only 3.8 liters of fuel. The more powerful versions have 1.6-liter engines generating 114 or 148 hp.
