Volvo continues to take big steps forward and no longer looks like a company constantly catching up with Audi, BMW or Mercedes-Benz manufacturers. Volvo has a clear direction - the cars are so safe that the company says that from 2020 no Volvo passenger will be killed or seriously injured in a car accident. In addition, the Swedes were the first car manufacturers to announce the abandonment of petrol and diesel cars. This will happen quite soon - already in 2019. From that year onwards, only electric and hybrid power plants will remain in Volvo's range. Volvo representatives say the manufacturer will release five all-electric models in 2019-2021. Three of them will be marked Volvo and two will be marked Polestar. What’s more, the company has a clear design vision that is really great. All Volvo cars have similar lines, are easily recognizable and the design of all cars looks natural, complete and negotiable. The new Volvo V60 is no exception. It should be noted that the delivery is a wagon, not a sedan. It may seem like a strange solution, but this one is well-balanced - it has recently become clear that buyers are abandoning the body of a classic sedan. They prefer coupe-style sedans such as the VW Arteon, or switch to popular city SUVs, or just buy small hatchbacks. So Volvo decided to introduce the wagon body first. As the company has announced that all of their cars will be available with electric drive from 2019, the new Volvo V60 is available with two mains-powered hybrid powertrains - 340 hp T6 Twin Engine AWD or 390 hp T8 Twin Engine AWD mains-operated petrol hybrids. By the way, the hybrid version of the T6 accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 4.8 seconds - at least the acceleration for a family sedan! Models with a T5 or T6 petrol engine or versions with a D3 or D4 diesel engine are also available. Of course, the new V60 is equipped with a considerable amount of safety equipment - there is a City Safety system with automatic braking and danger detection equipment, which helps the driver to avoid possible collisions with pedestrians, cyclists or large animals. A Pilot Assist system has also been installed to help drive, accelerate and stop on roads with lane markings at speeds of up to 130 km / h. speed.
