The premiere of a car like the Toyota Auris can’t go unnoticed, as it’s one of those models that dictates fashion in its class. Thus, the new Auris welcomes buyers with a fresh, more dynamic design that is set to emphasize those character traits that were so lacking in previous cars of this brand. The front of the Toyota Auris is somewhat reminiscent of the new Yaris and Avensis models and has sharper, slightly unexpected lines. The back is an almost exact copy of the Lexus CT, which isn’t really sad. Thus, in the new hatchback, Toyota continues to showcase its unique style and gives the feeling that the company’s designers know what they are aiming for and implement it perfectly in their creations. Inside, the car has an interior that is reminiscent of the dashboard of the sporty Toyota GT-86. True, the materials used for class leaders cannot match such Volkswagen Golf. Thanks to a six-centimeter lower body, a lower center of gravity and a lower weight of around 40-70 kg, the Auris has become more manageable and stable. Despite the roof designed below, the car has become more spacious inside and the seats are lowered below, making it comfortable for tall passengers as well. The luggage compartment has also become more spacious. It now stands at 380 liters - the same as the Volkswagen Golf and much larger than the 316-liter Ford Focus section. Because the Auris was designed in the same way as a hybrid car from the start, the batteries in the hybrid versions do not take up trunk space. This is a very practical improvement. The Toyota Auris has become even quieter, with both suspension and engines running quietly. The steering has become "sharper", but still not as accurate as many in this class. The new Auris is equipped with petrol (1.33 l and 1.6 l), diesel (1.4 l and 2.0 l) and hybrid engines. Toyota expects hybrids to account for as much as a third of all Auris sales. The downside is the CVT gearbox, which works loudly when the accelerator pedal is pressed harder.
