The fourth generation Škoda Superb car, the flagship of price, space and practicality, is being presented. It is symbolic that the production of the most capacious version of the station wagon is starting, and in the first half of 2024, the first hatchbacks will appear, very similar in shape to sedans. As you can see in its appearance, the car is no different from its predecessor. All generations of Škoda Superb have been evolutionary models and this one is no exception. The traditionally long hood transitions to a slightly wider octagonal radiator grille, which is flanked by similarly shaped but slightly smoother lights with the latest Matrix LED technology, emitting 40 percent more light. The windshield now has a higher angle of inclination, the roofline is slightly more sloping and the wipers are now integrated into the front pillars, all of which significantly improve the Superb's aerodynamics. Although it doesn't look like that visually, the car has actually become a little longer and taller, so the already large interior space has become even larger. Boot space has also increased - the hatchback versions now reach 645 liters (increased by 20 liters), the station wagon reaches 690 liters (increased by 30 liters), and the rear seats of the station wagon increase to 1920 liters when folded. In the interior, we see much bigger changes than the exterior of the car. The Superb is now equipped with 10- to 13-inch central screens for the entertainment and information system. In addition, next to the 10-inch virtual instrument panel, a projection screen in the driver's area is offered for the first time. An all-new center console has also been fitted, with significantly more space as the gear lever has been moved to the steering column. The central armrest compartment now has 5.5 liters of space for things. It's great that Škoda engineers left the most important functions to be controlled by physical buttons. Three multi-functional Smart Dial control wheels are placed between the central display and the console, similar to the one in the latest Škoda Kodiaq SUV. They can be used to control different functions by twisting and pressing them. Inside each dial is a color digital display that shows the specific function being adjusted. It can be changed by clicking on the screen. Drivers have the option of assigning one of four functions to the center dial: infotainment audio, fan speed, direction, air conditioning, drive modes and navigation map zoom control. One of the new features of the Simply Clever is the electric tailgate of the station wagon. The new model has smartphone pockets on the backs of the front seats. Also debuting in the car is a sliding central rear seat armrest with two integrated cup holders and a tablet holder. The front door traditionally has a place for a Škoda umbrella. The new Superb is available with six different engines. The engine range consists of three petrol engines with outputs ranging from 110 kW/150 hp to 195 kW/265 hp - the latter with four-wheel drive. Two diesel power plants reaching 110 kW/150 hp and 142 kW/193 hp - again, the more powerful unit has all-wheel drive. The 1.5L plug-in hybrid variant has a 148hp petrol engine paired with an electric motor for a total system output of 201hp. The hybrid Superb is equipped with a large battery with a capacity of 25.7 kWh, which allows you to drive up to 100 kilometers in full electric mode. Thanks to the 50 kW power charging option, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in just 25 minutes. All Superbs are equipped with a DSG automatic gearbox, controlled by a switch mounted on the steering column.
