The Megane II was launched in 2002 with many different body styles: three- and five-door hatchbacks, 4-door sedans, five-door station wagons and even coupe / convertible types. The Megane design retains the traditional Renault style launched by the Avantime model. The new Megane was named European Car of the Year 2003 and rated 5 stars in EuroNCAP crash tests, the first small family car to receive such a rating. Safety is ensured by the car's construction with provided compression zones that absorb a large part of the energy in the event of a collision. In Brazil, Renault has introduced a version of the Hi-Flex engine, an engine that can be "fueled" with both petrol and ethanol. This 1.6 16V engine has 110 hp (115 hp with ethanol) power. The most powerful version of the Megane has a 2.0 L 16V turbo engine with 225 hp (165 kW). This Megane has a sportier suspension and other bumpers. The new 2.0 dCi 16V diesel engine has excellent parameters, quiet operation and low fuel consumption. This 16-valve Megane diesel engine has excellent torque of 340 Nm at 2000 rpm and 150 hp at 4000 rpm. All diesel engines on offer meet Euro 4 requirements, develop high power and maximum torque in a fuel-efficient and low-noise manner.
