The essence of the Porsche 911 GT3 lies in the details, and the details of this new generation GT3 are as follows: 4.0 L displacement engine, 510 horsepower, from 0 to 100 km / h. the car accelerates in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 320 km / h. The legendary Nurburgring track was completed in 6 minutes. 59,975 sec. Which means the 911 GT3 of this generation is faster than the previous generation GT3 RS and even faster than the Porsche 918 Spyder supercar and about 17 seconds faster than the previous generation GT3 - which is a great deal. So how does the new GT3, whose power hasn’t increased at all, be even 17 seconds faster than its predecessor? First of all, the new 992 GT3 has much better mechanical s aerodynamic grip on the track. The clamping force of the car generates almost as much as the old GT3 RS and more than twice as much as the old GT3. In addition, both the front and rear tires are 10mm wider than before, and the width of the front van has been increased by 1.9 inches. More importantly, the car is surrounded by Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires with excellent grip. Tires alone, according to Porsche GT division manager Andreas Preuninger, "cut" five seconds at the Nurburgring. What’s very interesting is that this new GT3 is the first road-type 911 with a two-link front suspension. Porsche and we know that this increases cornering stability and handling accuracy compared to the previously used McPherson strut suspension. Only one very strange thing - why did Porsche install this type of suspension only now that Honda installed it on the Civic and Accord thirty years ago? Even more fun is that owners of the new GT3 can choose not only a precision-acting dual-clutch PDK automatic, but also a six-speed manual transmission. So, it would seem that the atmospheric six-cylinder GT3 has nowhere to improve, and it is able to beat the Nurburgring in less than 7 minutes - so far only supercars, hybrid supercars or almost supercars armed with 10-12 cylinder engines have achieved this time.
