The Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class is a medium-sized rear-wheel drive coupe or convertible. The car represented a new Mercedes class as MB sought to establish itself not only in the market for solid and luxury sedans, but also in the market for more sporty coupes. Although the car is built on a C-Class base, the exterior design is very similar to the E-Class, as well as the engines and price are closer to the E-Class, which is why many consider the CLK to be an E-Class coupe version. The first-generation CLK was introduced in 1996, three years after the introduction of the 1st-generation C-Class model. The CLK is not as luxurious and expensive as the SL-Class Convertible, but the CLK is also a powerful version of the AMG, with a 5.5-liter V8 engine with 342 hp (255 kW) and 510 Nm of torque.
