Mercedes-Benz CL Class, 1999 - 2006
The Mercedes-Benz CL (Comfort Leicht in German) is a huge luxury GT-class coupe. The car is built on the base of the S-Class sedan (with a 203 mm shorter base, and a smaller choice of engines), so the two classes are produced in parallel. It is one of the most popular in its class, popular with competitors Jaguar XK8 and Bentley Continental GT models. From the outside, the car has become rounder, with softer shapes (the old one has been criticized for its very large dimensions and "heavy" design), the interior is also dominated by soft lines, and the instrument panel is similar to the smallest Mercedes - A in 1997. The car has become elegant and modern. The car has endless equipment and various innovations. The coupe built on the W215 chassis had such engines as the V8 CL500, the turbocharged V8 CL55 AMG, the V12 CL600, the CL63 AMG and the rare two-turbine V12 CL65 AMG. This monster is powered by a Bi-Turbo 6.0 L engine with 612 hp (456 kW) and an incredible torque of 1000 Nm!
