The McLaren P1 is a limited-series hybrid supercar with just a few worthy competitors across the automotive industry. Only 375 such cars were produced. The McLaren P1 can be seen as a successor to the legendary McLaren F1 - both cars have center-mounted engines, a carbon fiber body and rear-wheel drive. The P1 has a 3.8-liter V8 engine with two turbines. This engine is significantly more powerful than the engine of the same displacement that the McLaren MP4-12C has. The P1 engine generates 727 hp (542 kW) of power and 719 Nm of torque. The auxiliary electric motor has 176 hp (131 kW) and a solid 260 Nm of torque. So both engines have a total of 903 hp and 978 Nm of torque. The electric motor is automatically activated when the power deficit needs to be filled at certain speeds, thus filling the so-called turbine pits, thus maintaining an effective power of up to 7,000 rpm. The P1 has a number of systems "borrowed" from F1 cars, such as the Instant Power Assist System and the Drag Reduction System, which are controlled by buttons on the steering wheel. This extraordinary car accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in hard-to-imagine 2.8 seconds, from 0 to 200 km / h in 6.8 seconds, from 0 to 300 km / h in 16.5 (all 5.5 seconds faster than McLaren F1). A quarter of a mile, the McLaren P1 is covered in 9.8 seconds at a speed of 245 km / h. The maximum speed of the car is limited electronically and reaches as high as 349 km / h. So with this car, the British are targeting Bugatti Veyron, Pagani Huayra and Koenigsegg Agera directly.
