Toyota supercar? The Lexus LF-A two-seater exotic car is already the second in the Lexus F series, the first of which is the IS F based on the IS model. The LF-A was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 2009. The car has a V10 engine and a carbon fiber body that makes up as much as 65 percent of the total LF-A body to minimize the car’s weight (it is said to have saved 100kg if aluminum was used everywhere). The remaining 35 percent is aluminum. According to the manufacturer, the quality of these materials is not inferior to that used in aeronautics. It is planned that the LF-A will be produced in only 500 units, all of which will be assembled by hand and will cost a similar $ 350,000-375,000. The heart of the LF-A is a 72 ° 4.8-liter V10 engine with a two-stage VVT-i system, maximum power of 552 hp (412 kW) at 8700 rpm. Maximum torque is reached at 6800 rpm, and already at 3700 rpm reaches 90 percent of the torque. Like the engine of the Ferrari 458 Italia, the red speed limit of the Lexus unit is only reached at 9000 rpm, and the fuel is stopped at 9500 rpm, making it an extremely high-speed engine. Such an engine must withstand high centrifugal forces, so the engine uses forged aluminum pistons, forged titanium connecting rods, and titanium valves. The engineers sought to make the car, like the F1 cars, instantly reach maximum revs, while maintaining Lexus ’inherent reliability and engine vibration control. The manufacturer claims that their engine can reach the red speed limit in just 0.6 seconds, so the tachometer pointer just doesn’t “catch up” to track a change in engine speed. So Lexus designers have incorporated a digital tachometer that can instantly display a parameter change. In the final, the car reaches 100 km / h in just 3.7 seconds, and the top speed is as high as 325 km / h. It looks like the car on paper is really menacing, it will be interesting to see what this car will show on the tracks to competitors such as Ferrari 458 Italia, Porsche 911 GT3 RS or Audi R8.
In September 2011, it was announced that the famous Nürburgring had been beaten by the Lexus LFA in 7: 14.64. This is the fourth fastest result ever for a production car and even 4 seconds faster than the Porsche 911 GT2 RS.

It's an incredibly fast car - in comparison tests, it has beaten not only competitors such as Nissan GT-R, Audi R8 V10, Porsche 911 (997.2) GT3, Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera, Ferrari 599 GTB HGTE, but also such supercars as Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Lamborghini Murciélago LP-670 SV.

It is planned that the LF-A will be produced in only 500 units, all of which will be assembled by hand and will cost a similar $ 350,000-445,000.

The Lexus LFA is incredibly expensive - in the UK it costs £ 130,000 more than the Ferrari 599 GTB and even 6 times more expensive than its nearest Japanese competitor, the Nissan GT-R.

The red speed limit of the Lexus unit is only reached at 9000 rpm and the fuel supply is stopped at 9500 rpm. The manufacturer claims that their engine can reach the red speed limit in just 0.6 seconds, so the tachometer pointer just doesn’t “catch up” to track a change in engine speed. So Lexus designers have incorporated a digital tachometer that can instantly display a parameter change.

In the Top Gear show, the Lexus LFA was voted among the 100 sexiest supercars of all time. In 2010, the car was voted among the top 5 supercars of the year, along with the Porsche GT3 RS, Lamborghini Superleggera, Ferrari 458 Italia and Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, and Stig named the Lexus LFA as his favorite of the five.

ked "5 greatest supercars of the year" and the LFA was honored as one of the greatest supercars of the year along with Porsche GT3 RS, Lamborghini Superleggera, Ferrari 458 Italia and SLS AMG. All 5 cars were featured in the magazine in a side by side comparison and the LFA was picked as the "Stig's most favorite supercar". [92] [92]

The car can be found in video games: Gran Turismo 5, Forza Motorsport 3 and Shift 2: Unleashed.
