The last generation Honda Civic surprised us a bit with its aggressive looks, this one surprises us a bit with its moderation. Well, if we look at Honda Civic historically, that's exactly how it was developed: for example, the fifth generation Honda Civic was very expressive, the sixth generation - just a little improved design, the seventh generation changed radically again, the eighth was of course the most successful and radical design change, the ninth again a moderate evolution, a top ten - extremely aggressive design and the new eleventh generation moderate again. But that's not a downside, but rather an advantage - the design of the new Civic has become more elegant, and the sedan version is remarkably similar to the more solid Honda Accord. By the way, it is also not far behind the Honda Accord in terms of size - this is the reason why the Accord model is not sold in Europe. In a slightly more modest form, the new Civic koger will transform very nicely into the Type-R version, which we can't say about the predecessor that transformed from the aggressive design in the regular Civic versions to the na ... "transformer" with the Type-R badge. The design of the new Civic features clear, unloaded body lines. The new Civic's more "sedan" shape is noticeable - this impression is enhanced by the lowered bonnet line 25 mm below and the sloping boot lid. Maybe only the rear part, which lacks character, gets stuck. The interior of the car is dominated by restrained minimalism. Maybe a little too restrained. The Honda company has not presented any interesting things here in terms of design, technologically as well. You’ll say the horizontal-shaped front panel looks exceptional, but that’s the style used in Mazda cars for several years. And in fact, there she performed more beautifully. The main focus of the cabin was the honeycomb-shaped climate system ducts - again we see something similar in Volkswagen cars. The controls of the devices are perfectly installed - everything is clear even when you get in the car for the first time. There is room left in the front console for physical control buttons for the most important devices. When changing the cabin temperature, the sound of the multimedia system or other common settings, the driver will not have to distract and use the touch screen. In terms of quality, the Civic saloon is good, nothing special and should not be expected from a compact class. The Honda Civic is also available in Europe with electrified e: HEV transmission. This hybrid drive is already available in the Honda CR-V and the recently unveiled Honda Jazz. The Civic e: HEV hybrid drive consists of a 72-cell lithium-ion battery, two electric motors and a new generation 2.0 L internal combustion engine. This Civic reaches a maximum power of 135 kW and has a maximum torque of 315 Nm. Of course, a version of the Civic Type-R will also be introduced, which we hope will have about 400 hp. So, the new Civic isn’t an overly exclusive car, but will be acceptable to many. In addition, the sedan's car shape, relatively large dimensions and extremely similar design to the Honda Accord sold in North America will attract buyers who like sedans but want a slightly more compact car in an urban environment.
