The eighth generation Honda Civic coupe is produced exclusively for the North American market. The new car has a rather attractive design, which is significantly different from the sedan and hatchback models. The interior is similar to a hatchback - a two-stage front panel with a digital speedometer glows in beautiful bluish colors and is made of high-quality materials typical of higher-end cars. The interior of the car is smaller than that of the ultra-spacious sedan, especially on the rear seats, but the trunk is almost as large. It’s a pretty practical car. The Civic Coupe uses a sportier and more comfortable rear suspension than the hatchback - an independent multi-lever and a less perfect front - MacPherson-type. As usual, the car has excellent handling, smooth suspension, economy, reliability and excellent value for money - which is what Honda must have. The most powerful variant has a 2.0-liter DOHC i-VTEC engine with 197 hp (147 kW) and a 6-speed manual transmission. Disadvantages - the front suspension could be more perfect, the lack of a Type-R version.
In 2006, the car was named Car of the Year by the North American Canadian Association of Journalists and Motor Trend magazine.
