The Fiat Multipla is a compact minivan based on the Brava platform. The Multipla that appeared on the market was unlike any other model - the SUV was much shorter and wider than its competitors and had two rows with three seats each (the later Honda FR-V also has a similar layout). The exterior and interior design was quite unusual, the car was even exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in New York at a design exhibition. The Fiat badge guaranteed excellent sales of this car in Italy, but sales in other markets were less successful. In 1999, Multipla was voted the most disgusting car of the year on Top Gear.
Multipla's exterior and interior design was on display at the New York Museum of Modern Art's 1999 exhibition "Different Roads - Cars of the Next Century."
The monovolume was much shorter (it was even shorter than the three-door Fiat Bravo) and wider than its competitors and had two rows with three seats each - very few monovolutions of this composition were produced (the later Honda FR-V also has a similar layout) .
At Top Gear, the car was voted Best Car of the Year 2000 and Family Car of the Year for four years in a row (2001-2004).
However, many people did not like the design of the Multipla - it won the "most honorable" 24th place in the most disgusting car of all time.
