Bold style and proud posture - that's what is embodied in the new Nitro. But the benefits of the Dodge Nitro don’t end with its good looks. This model is very functional. The Dodge Nitro is a compact SUV sharing platform with the Jeep Liberty. This is one of the first modern Dodges sold in Europe. The Nitro is powered by rear wheels, but can also be optional with an all-wheel drive system, it has a Load ‘N’Go system that has a movable floor in the luggage compartment (similar to the Saab 9-5 station wagon) that can be pulled out 457 mm for to facilitate cargo loading. Another significant feature of the car is the combination of SUV features with Hot Rod style design.
The Nitro became Dodge’s first compact SUV since production of the Dodge Raider was halted in 1990.
The Nitro is the first Dodge model in Europe since the company launched its sales here in 2007.
In 2007, a controversial Dodge Nitro ad called "charged with adrenaline" was shown, showing how a dog touching a car is struck by electricity. The ad received a lot of negative feedback after it was quickly removed from the TV airwaves.
