The Citroen DS3 is the company's first car in a new range of luxury and exclusive DS (Different Spirit) cars. Although Citroen has returned the DS name after a 34-year hiatus, the car has nothing to do with its predecessor. But company executives expect the car to be as exclusive and stylish as the old DS. The Citroen DS3 is designed to compete with other cars in the mini-class style and great image, such as the MINI or Alfa Romeo MiTo. The car has a great design - Citroen-style elongated headlights on the front, LED headlights in vertical cavities, a large air vent in the middle with a chrome company logo that masterfully blends into the entire design of the car. As you look further, the fin-shaped middle pillars stand out. Overall, the car looks original, but perfectly retains the new Citroen style. Inside is an attractive body-colored instrument panel that is somewhat reminiscent of a Fiat 500. The stylish interior does not disappoint with comfort - it is practical, comfortable, the driver's position is comfortable, and the sports seats in the optional equipment have excellent lateral support. Rear-seat passengers will find far more leg and head space than the MINI, and the luggage compartment has a sizeable 285-liter capacity. Citroen DS3 buyers will be able to personalize the car - choose not only the color of the body, but also the roof and side mirrors. Inside - the freedom to choose the desired dashboard finish, gearshift lever and interior materials. If you’re hoping for a slight revolution inside the car you’ll be disappointed, as the new DS3, unlike the legendary DS, doesn’t have any special technical solutions. For example, the front suspension is a traditional MacPherson type and the rear a torsion bar. However, the manufacturer also emphasizes the excellent cornering behavior of a car built on the same platform as the new Citroen C3 - according to the French, it brings the driver closer to the road. DS3 buyers will be able to choose from five engines: the VTi 95 hp, VTi 120 hp and THP 150 hp petrol engines and the 90 hp and 110 hp HDi diesel units. The car seems to have all the necessary “ingredients” to tilt the hearts of buyers to its side, but only time will tell if this car will find its place among the best Citroen models in history.
