In recent years, Citroen has been very successful in developing new models that are not only practical, but fascinate us with French style, good quality and reliable engines. Will the new C4 model continue this tradition? The second-generation C4 model emphasizes practicality, quality, simplicity and is manufactured with only a five-door hatchback body. For those who want style and sportiness, there are three exclusive DS4 models. With the introduction of two models in the same class, the manufacturer expects to see a larger piece of cake in the most popular car segment in Europe. Compared to the first-generation C4, the new model has no more interesting design solutions - no interesting lines, sophisticated headlights or a steering wheel with a stable center section. Willn’t that deter a loyal Citroen fan who always emphasizes the distinctiveness of the Citroen brand? True, the car is attractive enough - the headlights replicate the style used by Audi in the A1 and A6, the lines running through the side doors look nice, and the rear end is very reminiscent of the end of the attractive Citroen C3. Although Citroen calls this C4 model a brand new one, it hides the PSA platform used in the previous model under the new body. With a slight modification, the new C4 came out 50mm longer, 20mm wider and 30mm higher. We sit inside - here we immediately miss where the dashboard of the original layout went? Now everything smells of simplicity that we can meet in a row of other hatchbacks. Still, the C4's interior is high-quality, comfortable and functional - there is enough space for people of medium build at both the front and rear. All devices are easily accessible to the driver and although their operation is not the simplest or most accurate, it is possible to get used to it. An interesting detail is that the instrument panel lighting can be adjusted to suit your needs. There are several different shades to choose from for lighting almost every detail. On the practicality and capacity scale, C4 would be rated excellent. The cabin has a wide range of storage compartments, and the luggage compartment can hold 408 l of cargo (1300 l of space is reached when the seats are lowered), in its class the C4 is only ahead of the Hyundai i30 with 415 l in terms of luggage capacity. Other important parameters of the car are a bit disappointing - the car's suspension is unexpectedly hard and loud, the steering angle is large, and the steering is traditionally too "light" for Citroen and does not provide the necessary information to the driver.
