The Chrysler 300 is a large, sporty and luxurious sedan or station wagon whose design is clearly influenced by the 1957 Chrysler 300C. The signs of this - headlights and grille taken from their ancestor. Designed by Ralph Gilles, the new 300 was introduced as a luxury sedan built on the Chrysler LX platform, which in turn features components from the discontinued W210 Mercedes-Benz E-Class from 1996-2002. Common components - suspension, front seat frames, electrical part, steering column, 5-speed gearbox and 4Matic all-wheel drive system. The Chrysler 300C model has a classic, simple exterior design. The engine compartment is extended, the boot is short, and the large rims and low-profile wheels are accentuated by wide wheel arches. But the real charm lies in the functionality of the car. The body and boot lid are made of strong and lightweight aluminum. The result is a quiet, refined and luxurious car. Still, the Chrysler 300 has some of these quality issues - the squeaking of windows, windshields, skylights and rattles are the main causes of complaints.
