Already the seventh generation of the 5 Series BMW is the best-selling and longest-produced model of the Bavarian company. While the design of the car will not surprise, and many will need to take a closer look at how it differs from its predecessor, the BMW 5 Series is almost the perfect car - it has become even lighter, faster, more economical with plenty of standard equipment and almost unlimited extras. Now all the "five" body parts are made of aluminum, which allowed to reduce the weight by as much as 100 kg, despite the fact that the newcomer has more variety of equipment. The design of the car is evolutionary - the rear part has remained almost unchanged, and the front part has become very similar to the front part of the largest BMW 7 Series. The biggest difference is in the delicate lines that pass through the sides of the car. And while the newcomer won’t be surprised by the bold design solutions, it has to be acknowledged that the car is truly elegant. The new-generation BMW 5 Series also stands out with best-in-class aerodynamics. Air resistance coefficient of this car: Cd = 0.22. The new sedan also features a new design chassis, lower center of gravity, evenly distributed weight between the axles and extremely high body stiffness. Although the engines are not completely new, they offer about 10% better dynamic performance and about 11% lower fuel consumption. Inside, the developers of the BMW 5 Series have also chosen an evolutionary path - the idea of ​​the panel design has remained the same. And while there is no such dramatic impression of novelty here as in the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the evolutionary work of the designers only shows the right path chosen by the BMW makers more than ten years ago. The car can be equipped with any equipment that the BMW 7 Series has, except for the air suspension. The cabin is characterized by exceptional silence, and the suspension work, cornering and the overall balance of the car are close to perfection - it can be just boring for the driver to drive such a well-groomed car. The new BMW sedans are equipped with a stereo video camera as standard, which can be additionally equipped with a traffic radar and ultrasonic sensors. Traffic safety systems include emergency braking assistance, warning and braking assistance at intersections, and side impact protection. The latter traffic safety function constantly monitors the lanes around the car and warns of impending collisions or self-adjusts the movement of the car to avoid them. Optional cruise control Active Cruise Control, lane departure warning, intelligent speed and transport systems are able to independently control the car's speed and direction at speeds of up to 210 km / h. speed. These systems take into account changing speed limits and obstacles on the road and adjust the car's movement accordingly.
