In 2006, Audi introduced the second-generation S3. The car, built on the new PQ35 platform, is larger, has a new more spacious interior and a 5-door hatchback version called the Sportback. The new S3 generation features a more aggressive front end with the large grille now available on all new Audi models. The second-generation S3 is powered by a 265 hp (195 kW) 2.0-liter turbo FSI petrol engine. Like other Audi S models, this one is manufactured by quattro GmbH. The new S3 not only has a larger engine, but also a larger turbocharger, a larger intercooler, and a chassis matched for a sportier ride. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.7 seconds and reach an electronically limited maximum speed of 250 km / h. The S3 is priced significantly compared to many competitors, but only the VW Golf and Audi S3 are available with an all-wheel drive system. Other competitors - the BMW 130i M Sport has 265 hp and reaches 100 km / h in 6.0 seconds, the Volkswagen Golf R32 has 247 hp, 100 km / h reaches in 6.5 s, the Opel Astra VXR has 240 hp and 100 km / h reaches in 6.5 s, the Seat Leon Cupra has 236 hp and 100 km / h reaches in 6.4 s, the Volvo C30 2.5 L turbo - 225 hp and the Mazda3 MPV - 2.3 L turbo engine with 256 hp.
